How often should I get my windows cleaned?

Most people who get their windows cleaned professionally do it once a year. We don’t recommend waiting this long. We believe they should be done at least every six months. We have many clients who have it done every three or four months. Some, who live on the ocean, get their windows cleaned monthly.

Do you guarantee your work?

We promise to come back and touch-up any work that is not satisfactory. Sometimes we miss drips or smudges when we do our final walk through. Please don’t hesitate to call. We want our customers to hire us again or recommend us to their friends.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

No. We do need to see the property in person in order to give a quote that is both fair to the customer and ourselves.

How do you charge?

When we give an estimate/price for a job we take into account number of windows, how much time we think the job will take, accessibility, and difficulty. Cleaning a window that requires the use of a ladder will cost more than one that doesn’t. Windows that have lots of shrubbery in front of them will also cost more than those that don’t. We will also charge more for jobs that are dangerous to do.

Are you insured?

Yes. All of our employees are covered by workers compensation insurance. Ask us for a certificate of this insurance and we will have the insurance company mail one out to you.

Do you clean the screens?

Yes. Brushing of the screens is always included with each bid. If a client wants us to wash the screens with soap and water we charge extra. Most of the time brushing is sufficient. There are times when washing the screens is a good idea. This is the case when it has been a very long time between cleanings or after major construction.

What if my screens are on the inside of the windows?

In most cases these screens will be removed and taken outside to be brushed. In some cases these screens cannot be removed because of some sort of obstruction. When this happens we open the window, clean both sides of the window from outside, and sponge both sides of the screen.

What if I have alarm screens?

We are very familiar with alarm screens. We are aware that each screen has a plug and a magnet. If the screen is not plugged in properly, or the magnet does not line up with the magnet on the frame of the window, it will not work. We know that it’s important for each screen to go back on the same window. We only disconnect alarm screens if we have to. If an alarm screen is on the inside of the window we open the window, clean both sides of the window from outside, and sponge both sides of the screen. Outside alarm screens that must be disconnected are brushed. Whenever we remove alarm screens we make sure the alarm is working properly, with the help of the customer or housekeeper, before we leave. If the alarm is not working we are almost always able to find the problem.

Do you clean the window sills?

Yes, the outside sills are brushed before cleaning the window and sponged after cleaning the window. The inside sills are also sponged and/or wiped with a towel.

Do you clean all the individual sills on french doors and windows?

Yes, especially on the outside where they collect lots of dirt.

Can you remove hard water stains from glass?

Hard water stains are caused by water consistently hitting glass for whatever reason. The most common of these reasons is sprinklers. There is a product we use which is made specifically for removing hard water stains. It’s called Crystal Clear 550. We never know how well it’s going to work, if at all, until we try it. It’s a type of acid, and although it will kill plants, it does not affect paint or building materials. It’s the best product we have come across for this situation. There are lengthy instructions on how and how not to use it. If the stains are caused by sprinklers, we recommend that these sprinklers be redirected before we try to remove the stains. Otherwise the stains will come right back in a short time.

I have tinting on my windows. Do you know not to use harsh chemicals on this?

Yes. We are well aware that any type of chemical will damage window tinting. This is one of the reasons we only use liquid joy. We never have to worry about changing solutions for different jobs or different situations.

Do you accept credit/debit cards?

Not at this time. We accept checks or cash.

Are you willing to leave an invoice or bill to a third party?

Yes. Although we prefer to be paid upon completion of the job we are willing to leave an invoice. We ask that this invoice be paid as soon as possible. We also have many customers who ask us to bill to a third party. We are happy to do this for them. Again, we ask that it be paid as soon as possible.
